Wig Show Scam Is Still Going On

I found the wigshow website a couple of weeks ago after looking on line for a petite size wig. The website looked great so I ordered a stunning looking wig, or what I thought would be a stunning wig. It arrived fairly quickly, however, as soon as I took it out of the box I knew it was not the same wig I ordered from the photo on their website. I tried it on and to my shock horror it looked like a dead animal was on my head. No surprise, the cut and shape was completely different, it was not Remy human hair and it was not a size petite either. I emailed them straight away and informed them that it was not the wig I ordered and asked for a full refund. They emailed me back telling me to send them a picture of the wig, I was reluctant at first but sent a picture of it on a wig head along with the photo I took of the wig I ordered on their website so they could see it was a completely different style, there was far too much hair at the front which covered the top half of my face... what a joke!!! They told me the wig looked nice... taking the mick or what, didn't bother to explain why the wig looked nothing like the one in the photo. Anyway to cut a long story short, by the sounds of it from the comments I've read, I went through the same process as everyone else. They started offering me a 10% refund and told me to keep the wig, I told them I wouldn't even want it for free. They came back with 20% then a 30% refund they said it was their last offer and for me to keep the wig. I took the dispute up with paypal and basiccally had to repeat my self to them via paypals dispute procedures, telling Wigshow again that they sent me the wrong wig etc. I have now escalated it to a claim and hopefully will get a full refund. I refuse to return a wig to China to a company that has mislead me to think I was buying it from the UK, which wigshow say will cost me 30 GBP to return and 20 GBP for customs. The address they reluctantly sent me when I threatened to complain to paypal, was not the same address as the senders address on the parcel. No doubt they have given me a bogus address so that the parcel will go astray and they can get to keep my money. What I don't understand is why are paypal still assisting these crooks to rip people off? Surely they've had enough complaints to stop dealing with this bogus website!!!!

Ripped off by WigShow

Ordered a wig Dec 2013 from website , took great care in ordering the right size and style. Read the reviews on their website (which I now know to be bogus) paid via paypal ( thank goodness) and waited for the wig to arrive. 2 weeks later it arrives. It looks like something a 5 year old would use for dressing up! It's 2 inches too big in fact it would be too big for even the fattest head ! Unfinished long pieces hanging out of the bottom , longer on one side than the other nit even good enough to mop the floor with. ! I was offered £5 then £10 then £20 bla bla bla saying that I can keep it and have £20 back ! I am still in the process of a dispute that I have raised with PayPal who have said they will refund on 3rd jan. The last email from some person in china who doesn't have any grasp of English language has offered me £ 41 which I have declined .

FOR WIGSHOW/HALOWIGS VICTIMS, SEE MY TWITTER PAGE @Wigshow_Victims This company is not based in the UK like they tell you, they are based in Hong Kong. They promise you the world, including that your wig will be exactly as you see in the picture. What you actually receive is a cheap imitation wig, totally different colour (usually always bright red), totally different style, hair falling out, awfully glued hair, just very poor quality. Even though they promise a refund, they will only offer a ridiculous 10% compensation and threaten it will cost £40 if you wish to return. Many who have returned item, wigshow claim not to receive it so you are out of pocket and out of a cheap nasty wig. See my pictures...one shows the wig I was SUPPOSED to receive and the other shows the wig I ACTUALLY received; it is clear which one is which!! DO NOT USE. AVOID. Do Not buy from wigshow.co.uk

This company is not what it seems, it looks like a Uk company but the goods come from China where they are based. I had to chase the wig up as not arrived in the time it states, my terminal mother was very anxious to get the wig so she could go out which I explained to them, they told me they didn't have the style in stock, which I could have been notified about before.....I tried to cancel the wig, no chance they told a lie and said it had been sent but no tracking number, I had to keep emailing them mean time I have made a complaint with paypal, the wig arrived this week....surprise wrong wig and colour!!!! I straight away emailed them to get a returns number and address as surprise surprise no address in the invoice which also states the amount of the wig is $10, I have paid them £185!!!!! They have now emailed asking can I take a photo, and can we talk about this are they joking!!!!! Really can't see me getting my money back unless paypal can sort it!

PAYPAL are well aware of this company - and they obviously have taken no action since I spoke to them, almost a year ago. I was assured that if there were any further complaints against the company - paypal would remove their facility from this company (they obviously did not keep their word)!!!

THESE people, will ask for a photo - I sent a photo, and they said "its nice, why don't you keep it"???? They will correspond back and forth with you - offering 10% refund, then 20% refund - I was so out of time with paypal (as it took 10 weeks before the wig arrived - I was not covered by their 40 day or whatever their limit is on a dispute), so I had no choice but to take the maximum refund offered - 60% - better something than nothing!!! If paypal had followed through with their statement and stopped any business transactions to the company - you (and others in this last year), would not be in the position you are now in.

Without a paypal facility - most people would not have ordered from this company, and would have opted for another company instead!!! There is a facebook page dedicated to people who have been ripped off by Wigshow.co.uk - they also have a few other wig sites- under a different name (but same company) and they have a dress site - all for the purposes of scamming people out of their money.

I also fell for the same advertisement,I sent a photo of the wig i received and they offered

me a £15 refund and i could keep the wig. I sent a reply back via email asking for a return address as the wig they sent me was not the one advertised, even the colour was incorrect. My next step is to contact pay pal they were very helpful, and hopefully this will get my money back. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM WIGSHOW.

I received a very unsatisfactory wig from Wigshow and was also asked to take a photo. I was offered some money back and told to keep the wig.

However, after a number of emails, I returned the wig (to China) and asked for my money back. I have to say that I was really surprised to see the money had been credited to my account and at least Wendy and Fiona (?) had replied to my emails, unlike some online companies who just ignore complaints / issues.

Guest

Why didn't I search here before ordering? :( When have you ever had to take a photo of yourself in a dress you wish to return!

I guessed they weren't a UK company by the poor English.

My experience is the same as above - poor quality wig, poor colour and they are trying to persuade me to keep the wig and accept £15 refund. Why can't people like this be stopped?

Wish I'd seen all these reviews before I too got conned by these cheating bastards! I doubt if even my local am-dram will find a use for the heap of rubbish that Wigshow supplied!! Avoid like the plague!!!!!

I have just been scammed by this company Wigshow, completely wrong style and the parting looks like a birds nest. Will not send me a refund or provide me with an address to return this very offending article.

Please DO NOT deal with them.

I am surprised Paypal are still acting for them, as they are complete fraudsters, who's victims are Cancer and Alopecia sufferers. Disgraceful.

do not buy from wigshow they are a chinese company who has bought a british website! I ordered one for my mom not checking the company (what an ***) on checking I found all these comments on the company, luckily I had paid the money (£82) via paypal and was refunded.

The wig did arrive but it was awful it looked like it had been cut with a knife and fork also in with the blonde hair was black hair sewn in. Terrible wig which I wouldn't have paid £1 for!

Also they have another website which looks more or less the same as wigshow (but I can't remember the name. I am going to put the wig on You tube for everyone to see what a disaster it is.

Totally scammed by "Wigshow"

I have also been a victim of this bogus company. I ordered 2 wigs amounting to £270 +£7 postage. As like everyone else, my wigs were nothing like what I had ordered from the website. And of course I have been battling with "Fiona" over the last few weeks to get my money back. There was a return address in Portsmouth printed on the packaging but when I asked Fiona to confirm this she said it wasn't the correct address and I would have to send them back to china. She then proceeded to offer me the following over a string of emails : £15, £30, £45, £70, £120, £180, £200. I accepted the latter and she told me she process the refund that day and the money would be back on my credit card with 1-3 days. That was 18 days ago now. I am at the point where I have contacted them telling them that I know exactly what they're doing and that they will hearing from my representative in the near future while I look into what else I can do. I have been fighting Cancer for 3 years now which is why I need to wear a wig. I am not able to work so £200 is a lot of money. I am young and a fighter so I will not let this go but imagine all the other victims out there having to deal with this on top illness. They are thieves praying on weak victims and I don't know how they sleep at night. DO NOT ORDER FROM "WIGSHOW "

Good news about recovering money from wigshow

I purchased a wig from this fake company on June 19th. I had seen the same wig on a US website for the same amount in dollars so assumed the extra in pounds would be their profit margin. The wig arrived after about 10 days and it was immediately clear that it was a copy of what was advertised. That was when I started doing a bit more digging and found this site. I contacted them and asked for return address. I have since had a number of those email conversations that others have described with the latest being from "Fiona" offering a 25% refund.I have told them that I know they are selling copies of wigs from other sites and I am not going to play games with them. The good news....although I didnt have a personal Paypal account, I did pay using Wigshows account so I have been able to open a dispute with Paypal. I have been told that the money that I have paid will be withheld from their account and if they dont respond within 10 days the money will be credited to me and that will include the postage. I imagine they will still try and offer a percentage which I will not accept. Not sure how this will turn out but it looks as though this is the most stress free way to try and recover your money. This is the first time that I have been scammed and it isnt very pleasant. Good luck to anyone else in this position.

going through exactly the same thing at the moment..... I've sent several e-mails asking for an address to return the wig & asked for a refund...

just had a reply saying to keep the wig & they'll refund $25.. very frustrating.....

I'm accepting & putting it down to a lesson learned.. will stick with professionals in future..

I too was scammed by these evil people. I have set up a twitter page Wigshow_Victims (@Wigshow_Victims) to help other victims come together and share their experience, including if people were successful in getting a refund and how

Prospective Buyer

I saw the Wigshow website and was so impressed with the variety of choices. I did put an order in to my checkout box then for some reason decided to check on them and found all the complaints. Thank goodness I did. I immediately deleted my order from the checkout box. Why is this company allowed to trade when there are so many complaints about them. Surely once it has been proved that they are scamming the public there must be a way of forcing them to close down. It's also misleading in that they say they are UK when in fact they are in China

Wigshowau.com scammed me

So I purchased a wig from their online store which looked very appealing, I emailed the company before making the order and they promised customer satisfaction and committed to making a full refund or replacement if our needs were not met. After making the purchase, I was unhappy with the quality of the product, particularly the colour, odour, and overall design of the wig. Naturally I complained, asking for the refund that they had previously promised, they requested a photo and then only promised a partial refund instead. However after numerous back and forth emails stretching for over 2 months, and the company making many promises of transferring money, the money never appeared in my account, despite several so called attempts by them to transfer money back to us. My suggestion to anyone who has encountered a similar problem to take this matter directly to consumer affairs or other relevent authorities. Also, let's report this to Paypal to urge them to take some action. LET'S TAKE THIS FRAUDULENT WEBSITE DOWN AND PREVENT OTHER COSTUMERS SUFFERING OUR FATE!!!

Misrepresentation!!

I ordered a Revlon claw clip spiky, straight hair piece, I received a curly drawstring hairpiece, of what ever denomination?? so not what I wanted!!!! I emailed, not once but numerous times to complain and each email was returned by the mail administrator. This hairpiece was not cheap ($42.00) and was not posted from UK but Riverwood Australia ( I live in Aus)I did enquire on the delivery and the email worked for that. I'm so not happy!!! I just want what I paid for. I also noticed that their business name on Pay Pal is 'Wigs online sale'. This is totally not a good company to buy from!! I feel that they have not only misrepresented their product but also their company and geographical position. I also have noticed that they are representing them selves as other companies as I did send emails to two other wig suppliers from UK and the email was the same.... SO BEWARE!!!!!

Trying to return wig

Updated by user Mar 17, 2013

after a couple more emails I got Paypal involved and even though I had told the company we would accept 50% refund...(better than nothing we thought) Paypal have resolved the issue in our favour and the full amount has been refunded. Suggest people dont give up and give paypal the full facts and maybe they will look into this company further.

Original review Mar 06, 2013
wish had seen this site before mum ordered a new wig. The wig arrived and is of very poor quality, after several attempts to get an email to them have finally had a reply and they wanted photos first before giving a return address. sent them, then they replied as follows..'Thank you for your email. We'd like to refund you some money for compensation. If you return them, you need to pay the high postage and tax, and also they are easy to be missing on the way. If that, we won't be responsible for your return. so how about we refund you 20% of the total and you keep the wig?'I have said this is not acceptable. awaiting a reply. Also the address they reply from cannot be emailed back so have to address each to Wigsonline.comWe were under the impression the company was based in the Uk and from their site we had confidence there would be no problems with returns etc...Going to take this up with Paypal. loss of £64

Bought my mother a wig for Mothers day as she has lost her hair. The wig was not the style shown on the photograph and the size was far too big.

The same generic email, about 20% compensation and having to pay for postage was also sent to me in reply. Please please do not use this company as they have caused me and my mother even more stress that we did not need.

Also this company advertises itself as being a UK based company which is completely incorrect. In the process of contacting paypal!!!!

Wigshowau.com Spam, scam, ***!!!

Like many other customers, I have purchased a wig only to find it is impossible to wear due to the smell and colour. Then I embarked on long-protracted course of seeking a refund. Now three months has gone, despite the endless promises, the refund just doesn't arrive. At first they asked for photo evidence, then offered discounts from 10%, 20% ... 50% only for you to keep the wig. Once you have agreed, they then keeps saying the refund will arrive within 72 hours, a week, another week ... now three months. Only then you realise you have been conned. So, let's act, and try to take this fraudster website down!!!

This company do not do as they say on the web site

the web site is very slick and makes you think it is based in the uk, but they are not. They sent me two wigs that looked nothing like the pictures on the web. When said I wanted to return them they then sent me some odd emails saying (amongst other bizarre things) that they would prefer that I kept the items or I would have to pay tax (???) to return them. They also tried to negotiate a discount if I kept the goods They use an address in Portsmouth in the uk I think trading standards there should be made aware of these *** men.

Hi,

Finally they have agreed to pay 55% refund but I contacted with PayPal to get full refund. PayPal contacted with Wigshow and agreed to refund £100.00 out of £128.00 which I thought is not a bad offer as WigShow also spent money to make and send the wig to me from China. Considering the effort and time I have to spend to go through all the legal process, I have accepted with their refund offer and within a week PayPal refunded me £100.00.

I would advise you to contact with PayPal and accept their offer even if you do not get full refund.
